What’s included in my program?

Step 1: Defining your job search

Over four years of working with students and graduates, I’ve seen so many people struggle with their job search. The fact is that hiring is really messy, and most graduates end up making the same mistake: they aim for everything and end up with nothing.

In this program, I won’t let you do that. We’ll be super clear on our goals from the get go, the roles we want to target, skills that are needed in those roles, and identify companies where you’ve got the best chance of getting hired.

Our strategy is data-driven. It is underpinned by research and insights from the largest professional network in the world, LinkedIn. In approximately 70% of the cases, we’ve seen one of these companies extending a job offer to our clients.

Step 2: Identifying advocates and building relationships

Next, we’ll identify people who can help you get hired. This is super important because hiring decisions are made based on who the hiring manager thinks of when a job opens up, and who knows the hiring manager.

Being the perfect candidate won’t get the job done. You need to be visible in the hiring process. So together, we’ll craft tailored outreach and relationship-building strategies for each contact to get them invested in our job search.

You’ll get a clear roadmap as well as templates on how to initiate conversations, and transform these unfamiliar faces into valuable referrals. Where ever possible, I’ll connect you with professionals in your target industry for mentorship.

Step 3: Designing your resume

Once we’ve identified our target companies, together we’ll redesign our resume so that it stands out when you apply for jobs.

Your new resume will be ATS friendly, and brimming with metrics, data, and proof of accomplishments. However, just having a resume isn’t good enough. We have to make sure that we apply for jobs in the right way, which is the exact opposite of submitting countless applications every week. Quality is just as important as quantity with online applications.

I will teach you how to identify the jobs we’ll be applying for, how to customise your resume, and what needs to be done after you’ve submitted your resume to get noticed by the hiring team. As part of this, we will also work on your cover letter.

Step 4: Getting found by recruiters on LinkedIn

There are 3 ways to use LinkedIn to secure a job; applying, receiving support from your network, and getting noticed by recruiters and hiring managers. Most candidates only focus on applying for LinkedIn jobs, and never optimally utilise the platform.

We will work on all 3 that will make sure you are not just any job seeker. Your are someone who’s got a strong personal brand, you’re a close match to the job recruiters are trying to fill, and you’re well connected with your target employers.

As part of this, we’ll work on creating an all star LinkedIn profile that comes up in recruiter searches, work on engagement strategies that’ll help you expand your network, and create content that highlights your value.

Step 5: Preparing for interviews

As you start landing interviews, I’ll teach you everything you need to know about interviewing and salary negotiation. From learning how to respond to the most commonly asked questions, to negotiating the best job offer, we’ll cover it all.

The primary focus of my interviewing coaching is to help you establish likability and trust with hiring managers. This system will help you calm your nerves, build your confidence and transform interviews into job offers.

We will work together on crafting your story, highlighting your strengths, and using simple psychology techniques that’ll help you stand out. You will also learn how to go above and beyond what an interviewer is expecting.
